This week began and ended with muffins – Pumpkin Spice to kick off the week, and Pear Blackberry to end it! Both were amazing and I strongly recommend you give them a try. We also enjoyed large dinner salads, one vegan and the other topped with poached chicken. I also […]
We adapted this veggie side dish from a recipe by David Tanis in The New York Times, and in our humble opinions, it’s perfect. Simple, fast, and versatile – serve it with fish, pasta, rice, meat – we’re definitely making it again!
I’m loving this little cookbook I found a few months ago, “The Gluten-Free Almond Flour Cookbook“. All the recipes use almond flour, and are gluten-free. My husband prepared the Smoked Salmon Tart with a Herb Tart Crust, and I paired it with an original salad of with new potatoes, caraway, […]
This is an Indian-inspired condiment which pairs perfectly with Curried Turkey Burgers. It would also be awesome with our Gluten-Free Flatbread; of course you can enjoy it with pita, naan, or tortilla chips. It’s super-fresh, and perfectly balances sweet mango with spicy jalapeno and fresh ginger.

Remoulade is a sauce invented in France that is usually aioli- or mayonnaise-based. In this recipe from Alice Hart’s “Vegetarian” cookbook, the sauce is made lighter by use of vegan yogurt. We had half of a celery root left in our refrigerator from our Simmered Chicken and Vegetables recipe that […]
I think we’re finally settling into a back-to-school routine. Moving into high school has been a transition for all of our, not just for our older son. His days are longer, which means our days are longer, too. Whether intentional or subconscious, we responded by planning savory, comforting, low-maintenance dinners […]
This recipe comes from “Bi-Rite Market’s Eat Good Food“. String beans are a great veggie for a family dinner. They’re available fresh or frozen, and have a mild, sweet taste that easily conforms to whatever seasoning and flavor combinations you apply to them. This side dish comes together in less […]
We’re still playing the Whole Life Challenge, so this week’s recipes are mostly Paleo (or paleo + rice). We had fun this week, enjoying Paleo Pumpkin Pancakes for dinner mid-week, experimenting with pork belly, and loving Strawberry Cashew Chia Pudding (Vegan). Friends joined us for dinner over the weekend, and […]
